Yard Sales & Fall Cleaning-What a weekend!

Ok so this weekend me and my roomies decided to hit up some yard sales...Misty goes to them all the time and if you've ever seen Misty's place it is decorated way cute! And she says most of her stuff she gets at yard sales and fixes it up...So I decided to try it out..So me and my roommates saw some signs with some yard sales that were going on so we went on an adventure on Sat. So I guess I need Misty to come with me next time because I'm not really sure how to pick stuff out or what yard sales to hit up because I didn't find a lot, but we did find a really cute shelf for five bucks! Heck ya! So..it just needed a good paint job and it'd look brand new. So I bought some black spray paint and Misty helped me to paint it and sand it to give it an antique look and it's a really cute shelf if I say so myself..So I got a shelf for only five bucks that could have cost me like 40 at quilted bear or something and it looks just as good! So my new thing is hitting up yard sales, and it's fun to paint and decorate and make it your own. After the yard sales me and my roommate decided that our apt. is looking pretty gross so a little Fall cleaning was in order. We went yard sale-ing from 9-10, and then from 10-5 we cleaned the whole apt.! It was pretty exhausting, but we re-arranged, dusted, washed walls, cleaned cupboards, bathrooms, did laundry and the whole shebang! And our place feels and looks soooo much better! There really is nothing like a clean house! The one thing that I don't like about our apt. is that our kitchen is all white! White tile, white cupboards and everthing, so it gets dirty really fast..so hopefully after we spent all day cleaning it will stay clean for awhile! After this long day of work we had to hurry and get ready for the Relief Society Broadcast at six. and it was soo good! I loved it..If you didn't get a chance to watch it go online and watch it because it was good. I especially liked Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk. He talked about how sometimes we don't think that our efforts are good enough, but that we need to be more satisfied with what we do because we are daughters of god and have infinite worth. It was really good and something that I def. needed to hear. So this weekend was alot of work and play, but it was really good! Sorry to my fam though for missing out on Lagoon, I heard it was alot of fun!

New Hair

Ok so here's a funny story! I decided that I wanted to die my hair just a tad darker, so I bought some dye from wal-mart and had my roommate do it for me. The color turned out pretty good I think, I like my hair better dark ( sorry mom ). So then I decided my bangs were getting just a little too long, so I asked my roommate to trim them, well she did, but accidentally went shorter than planned haha..so then all of the roommates got in on it and tried to help fix it, but they were still a little scary..so the next day I went over to Misty's house to see if she could even them out and guess who ended up fixing them?? Haha..Nate actually helped my bangs out alot! I told him he's going to have to open up a shop on the side now..haha, we ended up having to do a full front bang which is a little different for me, but I think it will be a fun change. What do ya think?? The last pic is the end result, I can't figure out how to rotate it, so it's sideways sorry!

Cards!

Me & My friends like to play cards alot!! The last pic. is of my roommates Brittany and Miranda, they were too busy watching Star Wars to join in this card game ( it was too intense for them anyways haha..)

HOMeComIng!

HOMECOMING PARADE!!!!!

(Above) Me & Miranda, she is always taking care of me haha..

SO this last week was homecoming for SUU! These are some pics of the homecoming parade, it was lots of fun..

Egg Toss

Me & Nia, or Coach Cool and Coach Genius as the girls call us, haha..
This is Heather, she comes and helps out sometimes. She's trying to break this egg with her two fingers haha..
So Our girls have been having a little trouble with passing! So me and Nia(the girl I coach with) thought it would be a good idea to have them practice with eggs to teach them how to cushion the volleyball. So we had them each get a partner and toss the egg back and forth. You have to cushion the egg when you catch it or else it will break all over, which some of the girls figured out the hard way! haha.. It was a really fun activity and the girls did show some improvements with passing after we did it.

School is SOooo Fun!

Ok so I didn't get pics. of the tournament :( I was too busy coaching and helping with book keeping and such! So I am sorry you have to keep reading the lame posts with no pics! So I found this pic online so I could show ya what my last couple days have been like! School is so stressful this week! I don't know what it is about teachers, but it's like they all get together and decide to have the same things due on the same day! I won't have anything to do for like a week and then bam, the next week its' crazy! Which is this week for me! I have two really big tests, one of which I'm pretty sure I bombed today! And the other one is on Friday..I also have a big project due for my class on Thursday! This wouldn't be a problem, if I wasn't gone all the time with volleyball! We traveled to Pine View yesterday which isn't far away, but we didn't get home till 11:30! It was ridiculous, and then we have a home game tomorrow so I will be at the gym till like 9 or so tomorrow...So this doens't leave me very much time to study..I'm just hoping that I can get it all in...Speaking of which I should probably be studying and working on my project instead of blogging, but I had to vent for a sec! So anyways I'm off to do some homework!

Volleyball Tournament

So...It's the weekend!! Yay!! I'm headed to St.George for the weekend because my volleyball girls have a tournament in Hurricane! I'm excited it should be lots of fun. I am going to visit all my friends down there and then watch a lot of volleybal games haha...I'm hoping my girls do good, they should do great. My sophomore team has alot of talent so I think we should win it. As for the freshman team, they probably will not do as good haha..but it'll be alot of good experience both for them and me as a coach seeing as how I'm still new to everything! I'll try to take some pics. of the tournament and get them up next week or something!

Errand of Angels

So I went to the movie the Errand of Angels last night...I was a bit skeptical about going because it looked pretty cheesy and I had heard that it wasn't the greatest. I'm not sure that I would recommend paying 7 bucks to see it, but I still thought it was worth seeing. I actually ended up liking it. I thought it had a really good message. It talked alot about loving others. I think that everyone needs to learn how to love others better. The main girl had a mission companion that she could just not get along with, but once she started looking at her with love and as someone special they started to love and appreciate each other. If we constantly look for the negative in people that is what we will see, but if we look for the positive then we will see that everyone has good in them, and if we see that positive they will continue to become better and better people to us! I want to make it a goal to really try and find the good in everyone no matter how much they drive me crazy!

Orange Peel

I miss Orange Peel! One of my favorite things about St.George is that it has the best 2 smoothies places in the world...yes better than Jamba Juice I think anyways..Orange Peel and IntaJuice. This was at Orange Peel and I am obviously drinking an excellent smoothie! I want a smoothie way bad right now..but no Orange Peel in Cedar :(

Cedar/Volleyball

I'm just getting started so you'll have to bear with me while I figure everything out!! Also I don't have a whole lot of time right now, school and volleyball is keeping me busy so I will try and update it better, but it might take some time! But anyways....as for school I am really liking Cedar alot so far. It is smaller than St.George and I like that, its actually really pretty down here! It's been pretty hot down here too, so I haven't noticed a huge difference from here and St.George...Everyone in Cedar is really nice and it's a little more relaxed here which I really like, but I do miss St.George and some of my friends down there! Coaching volleyball has been really good for me. Its keeping me in shape because I like to try and work out with the girls and it is alot of fun. The only thing I don't like about it is having to travel! I'm too old for bus trips anymore haha.. but my girls are improving and I think that with some more experience they will be better players! We've played 4 games and only won one so we definitely have alot of work to do before region play starts. Anyways that is about all for now so like I said it might be awhile before I update more, but just be patient with me!
