Canyon View Volleyball

So the season ended a few weeks ago..and i'm just barely posting this..oops! These are our team pictures (completes of Nia haha). I had so much fun coaching this year! I absolutely love the girls I coach, and the other girls I coach with! I'm going to miss it alot. It's been nice to have more time to spend on my homework because I have ALOT. I hate end of semesters! Teachers feel like they should have big huge projects due the end of the semester so I'm trying to keep up and get everything finished..Lets hope I don't fail any classes so I can graduate on time! However, next week is Thanskgiving break!!!!! WOOT WOOT! I'm so excited to get a little break off of school-well atleast I'll be home, but I'll be doing homework while at home :( I'm so excited to see all the family and hang out in Emery county, and be in the new house!

So just a little update! I am coaching the sophomore volleyball team at Canyon View High School again this year. This is a pic of me and Heather (she coaches the freshman team). We spent all day at a freshman/sophomore volleyball tournament in Hurricane! A long day with no wins, dang it! So far our team has not been winning, but they have improved so much since day 1 of tryouts, so I'm hoping for the best. I absolutely love coaching, don't get me wrong it is really hard and frustrating at times, but it is also so fun! I love being with the girls and playing volleyball and teaching them to play. They always crack me up. I really like the other coaches also. Teresa is our head coach and then Nia (she coached freshman last year, and now does JV) and then Heather (our freshman coach) and me (sophohomre coach :) ). They are alot of fun! I like being able to play volleyball everyday with the girls, and it's good to help keep me a little in shape with the occasional conditiong I do with them. Pretty much you could say that lately volleyball has been my life. I practice everyday and then the last 3 weekends, i have played in 2 1o hour volleyball tournys and coached 1 10 hour tourny! Crazy...I'm looking forward to this weekend because there is actually no tourny-not that I don't love playing in them, but it's time for a break! I think I will get some cleaning, laundry, and homework done...Yay!!

Fires in New Harmony

So this is what our sunset has looked like for the past few days in Cedar, not a way good pic but it's from my cell phone so it's the best I could do, but it gives you an idea! Pretty much the whole town of New Harmony is on fire! New Harmony is a small town fifteen minutes south of Cedar City. The other day they had to evacuate alot of the town because the fires had reached town, and a few homes got burnt. so sad and scary! Some people in Cedar had ashes on their cars from the wind blowing over, crazy! The sky has looked crazy and you can smell the smoke way bad. Well last night we got a huge burst of rain for about a half hour and the sky today looks sooo much better, we needed it way bad! I feel really bad for the families in New Harmony that lost their homes! How sad! We drove and watched the fires for a bit just off the exit, and it was so crazy to see everything on fire like that, I have never seen so much fire. I'm glad that they aren't spreading faster, and hopefully our fire fighters are able to stop it from going any further.

Enterprise Has-Been Tourny!

So last weekend, it was Enterprises "Corn Fest Days" equivalent to Huntington Heritage days, or ferron peach days ha. but enterprise is a pretty small town, so its funny that corn fest is like a huge deal. I guess they have really good fried corn on the cob-like the kind you get at lagoon, but we never had time to go grab some, so i'm kinda mad that I missed that, but oh well! These are some girls that go to SUU, we decided to put a team together and play in the volleyball tourny that was a part of Enterprise's corn fest. There was 10 teams total in the tournament, and it went from 8:00 Am on Saturday to 9:00 Pm! Such a long day, but soo fun!! We had a couple breaks here and there, but we pretty much were playing or reffing non-stop all day. So needless to say, I was so sore for the next few days, kinda threw my shoulder out, but it was worth it. We have never played with each other before, so its kinda hard to play together when you don't know how each other play, but this team really clicked well together, so we had a strong team which made it alot of fun. We ended up winning the whole thing! Yay! The last few games of the tourny were so intense, pretty much went point for point, so it was a tiring game, but we came out on top! So we got t-shirts just for playing in the tourny-which were not that cute btw, and then for winning we got a gift certificate to Kohls! SWEET! I'm going shopping :) Coming up this next weekend, I have another tourny with a different team in Hurricane, for Hurricane's Days-I think they call theirs peach days too.....but hopefully we do good as well, I'm excited! I love playing all the time..

ShOUt ouT to Grandma!

Yesterday it was my Grandma Nielson's 81st birthday! I had so much fun hanging out with grandma over the summer while I was home, she is such an awesome lady! I admire her so much and love spending time with her. I miss her now that I'm down in Cedar! Here are just a few fun pics of her! Happy Birthday Gram!!

So I was at Subway just waiting in line to get a sandwhich when I saw this delightful outfit. Who would have thought to pair ankle length nylons with flats?! Genius!
